Our Activities
Tracking
Unleash Your Dog’s Natural Instincts!
Tracking is a fantastic way to channel your dog’s energy and challenge their mind. Imagine your dog following a trail laid out by you or another person, finding hidden articles along the way, and getting a reward at the end. It’s a huge trust exercise where your dog leads the way, using their incredible sense of smell to follow a scent undetectable to humans.
What to Expect:
Trails range from 400 to 1200 meters, with articles like socks dropped along the path.
Equipment:
Dogs wear a tracking harness and track at the end of a 10-meter lead.
Competitions:
Participate in tracking trials organised by our club and other clubs affiliated with Dogs Victoria and the ANKC, where your dog can earn ANKC titles and recognition.

Track & Search
Take Your Skills to the Next Level!
Track and Search is perfect for dogs that have mastered basic tracking and are ready for more advanced challenges. This activity mimics real-life scenarios where a person has wandered off and become lost, covering various surfaces and replicating the unpredictable behaviour of lost individuals.
What to Expect:
Tracks can be up to four hours old and may need to be worked in the evening or night.
Equipment:
Dogs wear a tracking harness and track at the end of a 5-meter lead.
Competitions:
Compete in Track and Search trials to earn ANKC titles such as:
- TDS – Track and Search Dog
- TSDX – Track and Search Dog Excellent
- TS Grand Ch – Track and Search Grand Champion
Scent Work
Fun for Dogs of All Ages and Abilities!
Scent Work is an engaging and rewarding activity where dogs use their natural scenting abilities to locate specific odours and alert their handlers. This sport is based on the work of detection dogs and can be done in a variety of environments, making it suitable for dogs of all ages and abilities.
What to Expect:
Dogs search areas set up in different environments (interior, exterior, containers, and vehicles) and must work through distractions.
Equipment:
No specific obedience training is necessary, just a keen nose and a love for sniffing!
Competitions:
Join scent work trials and competitions to showcase your dog’s skills and earn titles recognised by Dogs Victoria and the ANKC.
